Do you run your instance on a VPS or your own "bare metal" machine? What would you estimate the costs to be for a project such as this:

The best cost-to-performance is a bare-metal machine at home for storage, and a reverse proxy on a cheap VPS for caching.
You could easily do this with a spare machine and VPS for under $50mo.
But if you expect to have tons of viewers you'll want to serve content over object storage which is pretty cheap if you shop around.
I've always been a fan of start small and grow slowly though.
